Slashers

Trailed Slasher

The Falcon Slasher is a quick, efficient and trouble-free implement. Different models with cutting widths from 0,9 to 3 m are available to meet the varied cutting and slashing requirements. The tried and tested cutting gear ensures a clean cut in all conditions. Slashers should not be used for haymaking purposes.

Slasher Heavy-Duty

The Falcon Heavy-Duty Slasher range has a standard off-set hitch on all models, except the F50/300, which allows cutting up to boundary fences. The RG slasher is specifically designed for use in orchards and the semi trailed F50/300 slasher is designed for grass-cutting and slashing larger areas.

The Falcon Medium-Duty Slasher is designed for general grass-cutting and slashing work. The off-set hitch is standard on both models and permits cutting up to a boundary fence. All Falcon Medium-Duty Slashers are supplied with appropriate, fully guarded PTO shafts and torque-limiting slip-clutches, ready for work. Optional over-run clutches can be supplied if required.

Slasher Light-duty

The Falcon Light-Duty Slasher is designed for all grass-cutting and light slashing operations. Ideal for slashing in the garden or on the plot. Each light duty slasher has an adjustable cutting height to give the requirement finish, a rear guard flap and front skirt for safe operation. All Falcon Light-Duty Slashers are supplied with appropriate, fully guarded PTO shafts, ready for work. Optional over-run clutches can be supplied if required.

The Falcon F60/450 Flexwing Slasher is currently South Africa’s largest locally- manufactured rotary cutter. This implement has been designed specifically to cope with tough South African conditions. Having a cutting width of 4.5m, it combines high productivity and durability with low maintenance cost.

Haymakers

 

Small Haymaker

The Falcon F40/120V Haymaker® is a multi-purpose rotary cutter for smaller tractors (35 kW to 50 kW). This implement can successfully cut hay and also tackle other cutting jobs around the farm. The F40/120V Haymaker® has a round, low-impact blade disc that can be fitted with either two or four 360°-swinging blades. Two blades are more efficient for hy6a-cutting because they produce a crop that has been cut only once.

 

Intermediate Haymaker

The Falcon Haymakers® range has by far the largest share of the haymaking market.

V vs. EV

There are two versions of the implements with 1,5 m and 1,8 m cutting widths: the V (Veld Cutter) and the EV (Extended Veld Cutter). The deck of the EV is ±300 mm wider on the left-hand side then the V equivalent. This design allows for a larger space for the cuttings to move out of the blade path into a windrow. This configuration further reduces the possibility of double chopping and creates a bigger and wider windrow, which assists the baling process.

In the case of lucerne and teff (softer grass) we recommend the EV, which is fitted with specially designed high-lift blades (H1460) that create a vacuum which will lift the material and also direct in into a window. This will result in a cleaner and more effective cut.

V vs. VH

There are also two versions of the Haymaker® with a 2 m cutting width: the V (Veld Cutter) and the VH (Veld Cutter with BlowermowerTM blades). The V is fitted with the standard banana Haymaker® blades and the VH is fitted with BlowermowerTM blades. The VH is the ideal implement to cut tufted or heavy grasses, like blue buffalo grass, which tend to lie flat when it gets long.

 

Large Haymaker

The large Haymaker® us a twin rotor implement with a cutting width of 3,5 m, and adjustable cutting height from 40 mm to 240 mm to give the required finish. This means that one tractor and Haymaker® can cut the same volume of hay in a day as was previously possible only by using tow tractor/Haymaker® units. This results in significant savings in the cost of fuel and labour. It is available in both a mounted and a trailed version

Material Handeling Implements

Bale Handeling

The Falcon Bale Fork is a low-cost implement for in-field loading of hay bales and their transportation to the bale storage area.
The Falcon Bale Fork Loader is used to stack hay bales in the storage area. The maximum lift height to the centre of the bale is 2.7 m.
Important to note
The bale fork loader should not be used as a transporter as this could result in damage to the loader and possibly early failure. The bale fork should be separated from the loader when used to transport bales.

 

 

Uniloader

The Falcon Uniloader® is an extremely versatile implement. It can load and stack both round and square bales as well as taking on other general loading and lifting jobs around the farm.

The Falcon F750 Uniloader®
Depending on which tractor is used, the Falcon F750 Uniloader® can lift up to 750 kg to a height of 3,4m. The F750 Uniloader® comes standard with a bale fork and swivel hook.

The Falcon F1000 Uniloader®
Depending on which tractor is used, the Falcon F1000 Uniloader® can lift up to 1 000 kg to a height of 4,5 m. The F1000 Uniloader® has the following attachments available: the cruciform for lifting bulk bags, eg: fertiliser bags; the fork attachment for hay bales, and the swivel hook for general lifting tasks.

Mulchers

FieldMulcher

The Falcon Fieldmulcher™ is a specialised rotary cutter that cuts the grass and mulches and spreads it evenly over the full cutting width, encouraging quick regrowth. The key to better regrowth is a programme of regular pasture topping after grazing with a Falcon Fieldmulcher™, which improves the regrowth quite dramatically. This implement is also used when over-sowing rye grass for winter feed after the kikuyu grass growth has slowed down.

 

 

Side Discharge Mulcher

The Falcon Side Discharge Mulcher is the ideal implement for cutting and mowing cover crops, turning unwanted prunings into organic fertiliser in the form of mulch. The implement mulches the material and throws it out to the side, back under the trees, leaving a clean row between the trees, and a mulch blanket under the trees. The mulching process minimises the need for artificial fertilisers and sprays. The Falcon Side Discharge Mulcher is not limited to being used only in orchards; it can also be used for general slashing purposes.

The Side Discharge Mulcher comes with a chute cover, so that the branches slide gently over the cover instead of hitting the chute directly, thereby eliminating fruit damage. The cover can be removed if preferred.

There is also a chute off-set feature which allows the chute to be set back by 100 mm, making the implement narrower and thereby allowing it to cut in narrow orchards or vineyard rows without causing damage to the crops. The chute is adjustable, so that itcan be set to discharge material at the required distance.

Paddle blades can be fitted to the mulcher, which allows this implement to successfully cut, mulch and discharge crops such as lucerne, grass and millet, which can be extremely moist. By changing the blades, depending on the application, the Falcon Side Discharge Mulcher can be used all year round.

Spreaders

Rotorspreader

Every year hundreds of thousands of tons of manure are produced on South African farms. This valuable commodity can assist in replacing and building up the humus in the soil. The Falcon Rotorspreader can spread all types of manure, from dry chicken litter to liquid slurries, including matted straw bedding and compacted compost. This implement does the job simply, efficiently and with minimum maintenance

 

 

Limespreader

The Falcon Limespreader is a tractor-drawn, wheel-driven implement with adjustable apertures at the bottom of the hopper. It has no PTO drive or gears, making it easy to use and keeping maintenance costs to a minimum. The tyres have an 8-ply radial construction and are suited for use on rough terrain.
The spread rate is controlled by a lever, which is also used to shut off the flow of lime at the headland. Two agitation shafts with paddles driven directly by the wheels ensure an even flow. The lime is discharged approximately 28,5 cm above ground level, limiting wind drift. The filling height of 98 cm makes it easy to refill.

Rotavators

The Falcon Rotavator is the most efficient means of transmitting engine power directly to the soil with no wheel slip and with a major reduction in transmission power loss. Applications include seedbeds preparation – from coarse to fine, on uncultivated, ripped or ploughed soil, green manuring, fertiliser incorporation, weeding, stubble- mulching, planting kikuyu grass, preparing playing fields, landscaping and soil stabilisation for roads.

 

 

Bedformers

Bedforming can be undertaken simultaneously with the cultivation operation. Adjustable forming elements, mounted on the frame of the rotavator, create a bed at the width required for particular crop and the rear flap leaves a perfect level bed so that planting can commence immediately. A range of bedformers are available in all the above-mentioned sizes, making the process of forming beds easier, quicker and more precise. The F175 and F200 also have a bedformer with an additional central former which allows you to create two, narrower seedbeds in a single pass. This bedformer was specifically developed to assist vegetable farmers who required additional row spacing.

Mowers

Rollermowers

The Falcon Rollermower is a low cost implement suitable for the maintenance of all turf areas from lawns to polo fields. It is designed to give a neat and even cut safely. It is an ideal implement to creating a “Wembley” effect after mowing. Wembley effect is an advantage with regard to the aesthetics of sports fields, golf courses or parks. This effect is achieved by the rollers pushing thegrass first in one direction and then in the opposite direction during cutting. The Falcon Rollermower runs on full-width rollers with domed end caps so that it achieves a “Wembley finish”, without any damage to the turf.

 

Grassmulchers

The Falcon Grassmulcher™ is designed for one-pass maintenance of sports grounds and parks. It overcomes collection problems and is designed to give a perfect finish safely in public areas. The cutting chamber is fully enclosed and designed to recycle and recut the grass to leave a mulch spread the full width of the implement. The cutting gear consists of a round, low-impact blade disc with four special cranked and lipped blades that swing through 360 ̊.This system ensures that the blades remain perfectly horizontal at all times, avoiding scalping when the speed of the cutting disc is slow.

 

Blowmowers

The Falcon Blowermower cuts and collects grass in one operation, and the cuttings are then blown into a strong reusable bag. If preferred, the bag may be left off, and the cut grass is then spread evenly from the chute. It is a very safe implement to use in public areas, as the cutting gear is completely enclosed. A grass bag attachment is offered as an option on all models (light, medium and heavy-duty).

 

 

Rotagang

The Falcon Rotagang can safely achieve a close cut without scalping. It is used for cutting and trimming fairways, sports fields, parks and housing estates, and can cut matted and seeded grasses. Each rotor is mounted independently so that each gang can travel on its own plane. This ensures an even cut where undulations would restrict the cutting efficiency of other implements due to scalping. The implement runs on strategically placed skid runners and anti-scalping rollers attached to each gang to provide increased protection to the turf as well as improve the implement’s ability to follow the ground contours to ensure a close cut at all times.
